Visual Standards and Image Provenance
Dog Tumor uses visuals to clarify anatomy, care pathways and editorial topics. A picture can support understanding, but it cannot establish whether a mass is benign or malignant. Diagnosis may require examination, imaging, cytology, biopsy or other veterinarian-directed testing.
How visuals are identified
- Original educational illustration: an affected-area, anatomy or care illustration created for this site. It is labelled as an illustration and is not a real patient record.
- Licensed clinical photograph: used only when the source, creator, reuse permission or licence, attribution and any required modification notice are documented.
- Original editorial illustration: a clearly labelled non-patient visual used to explain a topic. It does not depict a listed clinic, product, practitioner or reported outcome.
Clinical and privacy boundaries
- Community and patient media require permission and moderation; identifying information should be removed unless publication consent is explicit.
- Editorial composite educational scenarios and permissioned contributor submissions remain separate, and neither is presented as a clinical record or a typical outcome.
- Images are not edited to exaggerate disease, imply treatment response or create a before-and-after claim.
- Alt text describes what is visible without diagnosing the lesion. Captions identify illustrations and explain when appearance is non-diagnostic.
Corrections and reuse
If an attribution, licence, caption, clinical boundary or privacy issue appears incorrect, report the exact page through Contact. Third-party images remain subject to their stated licences. Original site visuals should not be redistributed outside the site without confirming the applicable publisher terms and law.
