This policy applies to voluntary monetary support submitted through Dog Tumor’s donation form. A donation does not purchase a product, veterinary service, clinic listing, review, article, medical outcome or editorial coverage.
Operator status and tax treatment
Dog Tumor does not represent through this website that it is a registered charity, a US 501(c)(3) organization or an equivalent tax-exempt body in another country. Donation confirmations and downloadable records document a transaction; they do not state or establish that a payment is tax-deductible. Donors should obtain advice under the laws that apply to them.
How general support may be used
Unless Dog Tumor expressly accepts a restriction in writing, donations are general support. They may be applied to operating needs such as editorial production, source checking, content updates, corrections, directory maintenance, submission moderation, accessibility, security, hosting, software, administration and payment costs. These examples do not earmark a particular payment or guarantee that it will fund a particular article, patient, clinic, program or expense.
Donations do not influence clinical conclusions, editorial decisions, rankings, inclusion in a directory, product coverage or the acceptance of a submitted story.
Currency, fees and ongoing donations
- The donation form displays its processing currency before payment. A card issuer may apply a conversion rate or cross-border fee.
- Optional fee coverage is itemized in the review step and may be removed before completing payment. It may include estimated card-processing and Mission platform fee components. The Dog Tumor form disables the separate optional Mission platform tip.
- For an ongoing donation, the selected frequency and total are shown before submission. Manage future payments in the Donor Dashboard or contact us before the next scheduled charge. A cancellation request cannot reverse a charge that has already completed.
Errors, unauthorized payments and refund requests
If you believe a donation was duplicated, entered in error or made without authorization, use the Contact page promptly. Include the email used, transaction date, currency and approximate amount, but never send a full card number or security code. Requests are reviewed against the payment record and applicable law. Any approved refund is normally returned to the original payment method; bank processing times vary.
Payment and personal data
The form uses Mission Donation Platform and Stripe to process payments and may record the donor name, email, amount, currency, frequency, transaction status and information needed for receipts or support. Card details are handled in Stripe’s secure payment interface and are not stored by Dog Tumor. Choosing anonymous support changes public attribution; it does not make the payment anonymous to Dog Tumor or its payment providers. These providers may process data in other countries under their own terms. See the Privacy Policy and Cookie Policy for additional information.
This policy does not limit rights that cannot lawfully be excluded in a donor’s jurisdiction. For payment, privacy, cancellation or receipt questions, use the Contact page.
